This checklist will help you to prepare for a productive photo session. Expect to spend no more than 30 minutes with me as we work together to find the right position, angles and ultimately to capture the most impactful essence of you. Like anything in life - the more you put in the more you get out of this. So, come with a curious, playful, and interactive mindset. It is ultimately up to you how well the process goes for you.
1. What to Wear
Keep it simple: Solid colors work best. Avoid loud patterns, stripes, or logos.
Necklines matter: Choose a neckline that flatters your face shape—V-necks, crew necks, or collars all work depending on your style.
Fit is key: Choose clothes that fit well. Avoid anything too baggy or overly tight.
Layers are great: Jackets, blazers, or cardigans can add depth and polish.
Bring options: Bring 2–3 outfit choices to get a variety of looks.
2. Grooming & Appearance
Hair: Get a haircut a few days before (not the day of). Come with your hair styled how you normally wear it.
Facial hair: Trim or shave the morning of, depending on your look. Bring a razor or grooming tool if unsure.
Skin: Moisturize and hydrate well the day before. Avoid heavy sun exposure leading up to your session.
Makeup (if applicable): Aim for a natural look that enhances your features. Avoid heavy foundation or overly glossy lips.
Glasses: Clean your lenses and bring a glare-free pair if possible.
3. Before the Shoot
Sleep: Get a good night’s rest so your eyes are fresh and you look energized.
Hydrate: Drink plenty of water the day before and the day of.
Eat light: Have a light snack before your session so you’re comfortable but not bloated.
4. During the Session
Relax: The photographer will guide you through poses, so no need to worry if you're not sure what to do.
Be yourself: Bring your natural energy. A relaxed, confident expression always looks best.
Trust the process: We’ll capture a variety of angles and expressions so you’ll have plenty to choose from.
5. Optional Items to Bring
Hairbrush or comb
Lip balm or powder (to reduce shine)
Favorite accessories (keep them simple)
Extra shirt or blazer
A mirror or compact for quick touch-ups
